Welcome to my former home of 13 years — a light-filled perch I lovingly call the tree house. Perched high on a corner lot above the other homes, this space has long been my personal retreat, and now I’m excited to share it with guests who’ll appreciate its character and coastal spirit. The space is broken into two units: Upstairs has a 2 bedroom 2 bath and downstairs is a 1 bedroom 1 bath. Each have kitchens and living space. What Makes This Place Special • The ocean view from the dining table (where I’ve spent countless hours writing) • Lofted, painted wood ceilings and hardwood floors that give the home warmth and personality • Two sets of French doors and windows on two sides, letting in soft natural light throughout the day • A cozy fireplace for cooler evenings • Early mornings where, if the swell is big enough, you can hear the surf from bed • A mini-split system with heat and A/C for year-round comfort • Parking for 2 cars: one in garage, one in driveway For Those Who Love to Cook You’ll find a true chef’s kitchen with a Viking range, All-Clad pans, Wüsthof knives, and WMF utensils. It’s as functional as it is beautiful. Beach Life at Your Doorstep • Just 13 houses from the beach • A short 3-block stroll to North Manhattan Beach restaurants • 1.5-mile walk along the Strand at sunset to downtown • Beach cruisers, chairs, towels, and umbrella available for your use • Outdoor shower next to the garage for rinsing off the sand Work-From-Home Friendly Whether you prefer to work with a view at the dining table or at a dedicated desk to keep things organized, the space is flexible and serene. A Few Things to Know • The house sits on Highland Ave, so you’ll hear some road noise, especially during busy hours • The walk up from the beach is steep — so if you’re less fit, you might need to rest • The garage is shared with the guests downstairs • I return to enjoy the space a few weeks a year, so two of the four closets are locked
